Professor Tariq Ali, Pro Vice Chancellor for Global Engagement and Partnerships will talk about the benefits of international research collaboration, UoL’s strategy for global engagement as well as opportunities to develop your networks and partnerships for global impact, including with industry.

He will also consider the changing funding environment, geopolitical context and how researchers can navigate this evolving landscape.

Session Plan

This session will include 30 minutes light lunch from 12:30-1pm for colleagues to network before the talk starts.

The session will be a live presentation followed by Q&A with the audience and those joining on the livestream.

Presenter information:

Professor Tariq Ali PhD DIC CPhys FInstP FRAS, Pro-Vice-Chancellor Global Engagement and Partnerships

Tariq joined the University of Liverpool in September 2023 as the Pro-Vice-Chancellor for Global Engagement and Partnerships. He is responsible for developing and implementing the University’s Global Vision and Strategy and provides strategic leadership on overseas activities and partnerships with academia, governments, NGOs and the private sector. A key aspect is to help promote the excellence of the university’s education and research.
